Cast Iron – Wrought Iron
If your cast iron balustrade, frieze work or wrought iron is in original condition, then chances are it probably has over 100 years’ worth of paint on it.
Consequently, that fabulous casting quality and workmanship will be all but lost under the 10 or so layers of paint.
As intended, we can strip this back to bring out the beauty in the detail. From here we then refinish using high build zinc phosphate primers along with high quality Australian made epoxy paints.
Heritage Restorations and Renovations can help with protecting, repairing or reproducing heritage metalwork that has been damaged or broken.
We work in conjunction with restoration, pattern makers and foundry professionals to recreate or restore heritage metalwork. Many properties in Sydney have feature metalwork.
We apply the same traditional techniques that were probably used at the time the architectural metalwork was constructed on your building. You can therefore have total peace of mind knowing that our experienced team can undertake the restoration of work ranging from wrought iron palisade fences, gates and the repair and re-installation of original cast iron lace panels on historic terraces.
